Social Events: A business/social meeting is held on the first Wednesday of every month at Fuddruckers restaurant Rte. 7 in Tyson's Corner, VA starting at 7:30 p.m. Topics of discussion generally include upcoming events, shop recommendations, an open question and answer technical forum and items for sale or trade. Occasionally there are special presentations and guest speakers. There is an annual picnic, Fall drive and an annual holiday party in late December., skiing, sailing, crab feasts, beach trips, etc. are but some of the events organized by and for our Club members. Driving events: We feature monthly scenic drives in the country to historic landmarks, national parks, restaurants, etc. on the weekend following our Club meeting. We also sponsor or are invited to attend road rallies, autocrosses, high-speed driving schools, Mazda promotions, etc. We keep you informed of these events, many of which are local or held nearby. List Serve: We maintain a robust List Serve with over 600 subscribers, predominately from the Mid-Atlantic Area. Our List Serve keeps members informed about upcoming club activities, Mazda competition news, auto industry news, information on Mazda Motor Corporation, new products, technical tips on car maintenance and repair, recent club events, Club member items for sale or trade, and member experiences. With over 600 subscribers, the wealth of fellow Mazda enthusiast owners supporting information is vast. Additionally, we encourage all Club members to submit articles and photographs for publication and/or inclusion on our web pages. Tech Sessions: Raise your Mazda on a lift and perform your own maintenance at participating Mazda dealers and auto centers. You will be able to perform your own routine maintenance, such as oil changes, tire rotations, brakes, etc. Mazda mechanics and other club members are available to lend assistance. This is an excellent opportunity to familiarize yourself with the unique characteristics of your vehicle. Dealer Discounts: Mazda dealerships offer discounted prices on parts and service to our Club members. The percentage and participation varies, however, the average is usually 15% on both parts and labor. Aftermarket Discounts: Local automotive businesses in the Washington area offer discounted prices to our members. Announcements of these discounts appear in club brochures and our newsletter. There are numerous accessories shops as well as repair and tire centers available to assist you with maintenance and customization of your Mazda. Insurance Discounts: Liberty Mutual provides special insurance discounts for being an MSCW member. Our Membership Coordinator can provide you with the contact information. of information and experience of its members. By the mid 80's
many of the original owners purchased other Mazda models in addition
to their Rx-7s and our events became reflective of all Mazda models.
Since then we have been a Mazda marque club with membership open
to all Mazda vehicle owners. In 1991, we also added the Capital
Chapter of the Miata Owners Club and renamed ourselves to encompass
the Mx-5 Miata and other Mazdas. Owners of all Mazda models are
encouraged to join in order to share in the camaraderie, driving
events, social gatherings, discounts, and technical expertise
within our organization.
