The Mazda North American Operations
(MNAO) RX-8 Press Tour began in the Washington DC area Wednesday,
when a number of local area journalists were able to sample several
of the great new rotary offerings for a few hours in Gaithersburg,
Maryland through Mazda's DC area press fleet organization. On
Thursday afternoon, Mazda Executives brought the tour to the
Fort McNair military base in Washington, DC for the benefit of
the Society of Automotive Engineers.
Members of the SAE were kind
enough to invite Mazda Club of Washington members to
the function, where we were allowed to sample the cars at the
base for a few hours prior to attending a dinner with several
high level officials of MNAO and the society members. Special
thanks to Thad Ring & Dan Ryan for arranging this function and the invitation.
Thanks also to MNAO executives: Weldon Munsey, Jay Tolstoy and
Jeremy Barnes.
